I’m a huge fan of local artists, and feel very strongly about supporting them. That is, do it. The Taproot is one of my favorite venues to watch the talent that hails from Alaska and beyond.

When Alaska Public Media’s event coordinator decided to do an event celebrating emerging artists, I was eager to do the poster complete with a full illustration. Hannah Yoter is the artist pictured. The photograph is by Joel Adams, an up-and-coming photographer in the Anchorage area who got some stunning portraits of her.
